About the Garden Rendezvous on Lake Constance: This part of the garden route leads you from Reichenau Island to Radolfzell. Both private and public gardens offer an invitation to stay and linger.
Lake Constance and its Reichenau Island are considered the cradle of European horticulture. That’s also why the trip begins with the “Hortulus” of the ninth-century monk Walahfrid Strabo. Owners of private gardens as well as parks around the Lower Lake Constance invite you to a garden rendezvous, opening up their green gems once or several times a year to interested visitors. The first part of the trip leads you from Reichenau Island to Radolfzell where the second part of the trip, from Radolfzell to Öhningen, continues.
